Semester One

5-6

This semester, the students have been developing their skills and awareness of rules and strategies to participate in striking sports such as Cricket, Bat tennis, Tee ball and Softball. They have also developed their personal fitness through a series of Beep Tests, participating in gymnastics sessions and the school Cross Country. They have been involved in Athletics events such as running 100 & 200 meters, High jump, Long jump, Discuss and Shot Put. Students in year 5/6 have been developing skills and an awareness of rules and strategies, to participate in sports such as Basketball, Football and Soccer and understand the importance of team work through minor games.

Students in years 7/8 have been developing skills and an awareness of rules and strategies, to participate in sports such as Basketball, Football and Soccer and understand the importance of team work through minor games. There has been a focus on students being able to prepare themselves independently for sport by displaying good warm up strategies such as a slow jog and stretching. Students are also encouraged to undertake a variety of roles when participating in modified sports, such as player, umpire and coach.
